The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Mini-Dew

Another proud moment in child rearing, a few of them yesterday actually... It all started in the morning, once again watching the news, she perks up her little ears when Bob Van Dillon gives his weather report and makes mention of the storms headed our way. With her eyes aglow, she repeated the word, "Storms..." in a dreamy voice. Now that I think of it, during the prior night, she had watched GR with me as I watched that storm track across Louisiana. She was very interested. I showed her the various symbols and explained what they mean, showed her the tornado report and explained that spotters report the conditions visible on the ground to the NWS and EMS to help them warn people in those areas to keep them safe. She was so interested. She asked what our weather would be like Friday. I explained the forecast to her, and she was concerned that we might have a tornado watch. I explained that we are often put under a tornado watch and nothing happens. It just warns people that conditions exist that could produce a tornado so they can be prepared, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we'll have one. She was content with that. Well, the big moment occurred on the way home from practice last night at about 9:45. The sky was clear... yes, clear, after all that mess and 1.9" of rain, we had clear skies. Darling daughter (or should I say mini-Dew?)looked at the sky and said... wait, let me revel in this moment... "Wow, it's a beautiful moon tonight! If I had a good camera, I would take a picture of it, since it's so beautiful." Ahh, but wait, that's not all. She continued to say, "I would really want to be a storm chaser like Mommy. I want to go storm chasing with you sometime, Mommy. That's what I really want to do some day." Yes, folks, I have a team. The DST (The Dewdrop Stormchasing Team)... Really makes a Dewdrop proud. It almost makes up for the huge disappointment yesterday.

As for yesterday, lots of reports of trees down all over North GA and Southern SC, a couple of reports down my way. In fact,
POSSIBLE TORNADO DAMAGE IN DIXIE UNION. A PUMP HOUSE WAS DESTROYED. A SURVEY TEAM IS (WAS) ON ROUTE TO INVESTIGATE EXTENT OF DAMAGE. (JAX) I would love to be on a survey team. I am actually certified with the Red Cross in damage assessment, so that would be right up my alley. Does TLH do surveying?? hmmm... We have some scattered rain in our forecast tonight and tomorrow,and possibly into Monday during the day but clear Monday night and for the remainder of next week.

Well, that's all I have for now. Today is a cleaning day, and it's time to take down all the Christmas decor. Also, darling daughter will be volunteering at the library. Then, we have a surpise party to attend... full schedule. If anyone would like to buy Girl Scout cookies, send me an email through the email icon available on the "view my profile" link. Sales for those start today, and I am willing to mail them. They have a new cookie available, the little brownies, sounds kind of cannibalistic, brownies selling brownies... Anyway, let me know if you want them. Cookie time is my favorite time of the year... mmmmmmm....;-)

Anyway, gotta get going with the rest of my day.

Toodaloo,
~Dewdrop
