HAVE DECIDED NOT TO RE-ISSUE AN SPS FOR SMOKE AS THIS LOOKS TO BE A LONG TERM SITUATION FOR OUR REGION AND THE PUBLIC BY NOW SHOULD BE WELL AWARE OF ITS ORIGIN AND PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE TO AVOID ANY HEALTH IMPACTS. THIS OFFICE WILL ISSUE DENSE SMOKE ADVISORIES UNDER THE NPW PIL IF VISIBILITIES ARE REDUCED OR ARE EXPECTED TO BE REDUCED TO 1/4 MILE OR LESS OVER A WIDESPREAD AREA.The smoke now has become such a part of life here now that Tim has decided that we already know... sadly true. We know all too well the health impacts of the horrific smoke. People are being impacted in many, many ways. Sore or scratchy throats, burning or watery eyes, congestion, coughing, sneezing, headache, breathing difficulty, chest pain, dizziness, light-headedness, runny nose, dry mouth, nausea, and vomiting. I have even noticed people's demeanors (including mine)being impacted. People are saddened by it. People seem more edgy, less patient, much more tired. Our lungs are working overtime, trying to filter out this mess. We haven't seen blue skies now in a while. The sun is an orange ball mostly obstructed by a smoky haze, when you can even see it through the thick smoke. I need sun at least occassionally. It helps cheer me up. It's a bad, bad situation. Everyone is being impacted, and Tim's right, we are very sadly aware.
I have our chase team convergence to look forward to... God knows it's the only convergence we have to look forward to around here. We'll be able to talk weather. I'll get to rub it in about my upcoming plains chase. It should be great!
My friend from North Georgia with the leaning garage ended up not coming today, so we didn't end up helping them with that. Freed up my afternoon. I ended up working on deep cleaning Mini-Dew's room to get it ready for some furniture she's about to get, and now, I'm on to the rest of the house.
Toodles and good night.
