The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

The system formerly known as STD Andrea...

Well, it appears that Andrea has lost her STD status, and she's taking on some more convection. Now, just a petty remnant low pressure system, continuing to spin off the East Floridian coast. Might get a chance of thunderstorms down south as her remnants collide with the developing sea breeze boundary. They don't need the lightning, but some heavy rains would be much appreciated by the folks down there and the folks up here, for that matter. Potentially, we could get rain up here starting tomorrow and Sunday, up to 40% POPS, with lightning forecasted... not good news. Unfortunately, lightning triggered a huge fire near Folkston, GA, on Saturday that has rapidly grown to the record levels of the Waycross fire, in only 5 days. Already 100,000 acres, in addition to the over 100,000 near Waycross. Smoke and fire are causing road closures, forcing evacuations and making breathing difficult for some.

...Which brings me to my concern... We are heading down to Orlando tomorrow to experience the Nickelodeon hotel, and we are looking now at what road options we have in the event that fires and smoke force road closures. I hope the smoke won't be bad down there for our trip, as Mini-Dew really struggles with the smoke, and I want this to be a wonderful trip for her.

A co-worker of mine got tulips from her son for Mothers' Day. They are beautiful, and I was asked to take some pictures of the arrangement... That consumed a good part of my morning, as I was trying to get the perfect lighting. I enjoyed the shoot. It's nice to be photographing something again...

I'd better run... don't know when I'll get on again, but I'll do what I can. Mini-Dew is sick at home, so everything is crammed in today, so I can return home and relieve hubby.

Toodles,
~Dewdrop

  2. They do... but not on Mothers' Day. Though, I think I might sign up Mini-Dew and hubby for a dose of it.

  3. ...SPECIAL FEATURE...
LAST NIGHT SUBTROPICAL STORM ANDREA DEGENERATED INTO A REMNANT
LOW AND THE LAST ADVISORY WAS ISSUED. HOWEVER..SINCE THIS
MORNING CONVECTION HAS FLARED UP NEAR THE CENTER OF THIS SFC LOW
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 28.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 79.7 WEST AT
11/1500Z...SUGGESTING THAT THE SYSTEM IS BEGINNING TO ACQUIRE
TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS. ALTHOUGH UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO REMAIN UNFAVORABLE FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT
DEVELOPMENT...THE SYSTEM IS OVER RELATIVELY WARM WATERS AND IS
BEING MONITORED FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE OF ORGANIZATION.
CLUSTERS OF MODERATE TO STRONG CONVECTION ARE ASSOCIATED WITH
THE REMNANTS OF ANDREA FROM 27N-29N BETWEEN 78W-80W.

She is a WTSTS...White Trash STD and she may be making a comeback...Told ya!

  5. Funny that you bring up Nick Hotel, were going there in June for JJs 7th Bday. The place is huge.

  6. I remember seeing Andrea on COPS a few weeks go. She was naked, swirling around in the streets, missing a few teeth, and all wrapped up in thick smoke.

PS - East coast sea breeze about to blast through the large wildfires in N FL / S GA. Big fire storm flare up in the making.

  7. It's our first time going, and I am really looking forward to the pies... I just hope the weather is somewhat cooperative. I know that Florida needs rain, but not while we're playing in the water attractions and slime.

  8. Oh no... just what we need... a flare up, as if it wasn't doing a good job on its own... how terrible!

As for Andrea... bad girl, bad girl, what you gonna do?

  9. What water park? Typhoon Lagoon is my fav. We go there several times a year. I love the lazy river and 6ft wave pool. The slides are cool too.

  10. I'm talking about right there at the hotel... I don't think we'll be leaving the facility. We'll be dining with Spongebob and getting slimed galore. I don't guess it's really a water park, just awesome pool facilities with cool winding slides. Nick Pools

  11. All joking aside - Andrea looks to be more tropical than ever. Tighter LLC, decent bursts of convection near and over the center and better banding. The shear has relaxed some over the system as she's moving more south-southeasterly now..drifting. She might just redevelop into a weak Pure tropical storm befoe being kicked out by the trough. The trough might even help at first to vent her outflow in the short term.
