Ahh, the long forgotten days of cumulus towers on the horizon, the beautiful crackling of thunder... instability, lift, moisture... where have all my thunderstorms gone?! Yes, folks, my Supercell Deprivation Syndrome(SDS) is kicking in hard this winter... wait a minute, it's not winter yet! Ugh! I still have to make it through "winter". At least winter ends early down here and severe weather season kicks back in... what am I saying, all these ups and downs in temperature are bound to generate some severe weather (besides the colds they instigate). A couple of years ago, we actually had a tornado an hour from here on Christmas Day (not the ideal). Speaking of tornadoes, I was glancing through the scientific paper on Greensburg, that Steve M. (Texas) linked the other day by Leslie R. Lemon and Mike Umscheid, called "The Greensburg, Kansas Tornadic Storm: A Storm Of Extremes". What a well written report! Wow! That storm was amazing, horribly devastating, but amazing!
Have a great afternoon!
