The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
-Psalm 19:1

Do you know that God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash?

Well, I might upset my northern friends when I say this, but we have been thoroughly enjoying mild 70 degree temps in my neck of the woods. Yesterday, during lunch, my wonderful gtb and I found a nice spot to photograph a majestic oak tree with an amazing canopy of draping Spanish moss. We contemplated putting the top down, but because of the cool (55 degree--I know, a heat wave for some of y'all, but down hear, that is COLD!) nights, opted against it.

Later that afternoon, as I was leaving work at sunset (yahoo! When does that ever happen?!) Anyways, there was a beautiful scattering of clouds. The barren trees and patchy clouds, made for a beautiful (75 degree--oops, am I rubbing it in?) wintery scene, so you know me, I went to town taking pics. I even played with the settings some for effect.Gee, seen enough of the water tower yet?Then, last night, my adorable ("in-charged"--seriously, this little 4 year old would look at you, put her hands on her hips and say, "I'm in charged!")God-daughter and her mother and grandmother (dad was stuck at home waiting on some very late cabinets), came over for the girls to exchange gifts. We got her a most appropriate gift... In case you can't read the caption on the box, it reads, "Today may be rainy, but the puddles are fun..." The part it leaves off is that the tornadoes, hail and lightning can also be fun (if they aren't harming people or property and you keep a safe distance and are highly trained and can watch it safely)... but I guess they were working with limited space.

Finally, today, I awoke to a bed of thick fog settled in the area. Visibility was down, but it sure was pretty in parts.Have a fabulous day!

  2. I love those shots. I can pretend that I'm up north. Sort of looks like mountains in the background.
    Thanks for the nice evening!

    I see you've been playing with colors again. *laughs*

    Oaks are one of my favs to shoot, especially if there is fog, them and pines with moss draping down. :D
