The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Honk!!!

It all started with a week's worth of bogus rain forecasts. Each day, the weather service forecasted thunderstorms to the point where I alerted my wonderful groom that he should put the top up on his jeep, which is not something he likes to do in the spring, so for a full week... he had the top up and ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN FELL! Then, on Friday, we have a pool party planned... beautiful skies, all day long, with the typical teasing towers.... except, this time, they weren't teasing. They were the real deal. At about 4:00, the bottom fell out, dropping about a 1/2 inch of rain at the house, and generating a pretty intense thunderstorm, which actually knocked off our power momentarily when a bolt struck near my building. Mini-Dew was texting me, upset about the rain/thunderstorm potentially ruining the party plans. It was clear that it was just a sea-breeze summer-like thunderstorm, which would fizzle out once the energy from the day had been exhausted. I let the party organizer know that and the party went on... the kids were able to swim and have a great time. On Saturday... you know, a day when an even lower probability of precipitation existed, and we had big plans for our at-home wedding "reception", where we were counting on outdoor seating... the bottom fell out again. It was fine. We had borrowed tables and chairs that went unused, and we were able to accommodate our guests inside. We had yummy food and a gorgeous and fun cake...... which we fed to each other... kindly...... well, kind of... he was slightly nicer than I was. We had a truly terrific time with our friends and their children.

We had a relaxing day as it CONTINUED to rain on Sunday, and then took our journey to return the children to their mother. We drove through some powerful thunderstorms, and I got weather updates from Alabama Mike, thanks, Mike!!! Had the coolest thing happen, scary, but cool. My wonderful hawk-eyed groom spotted a gaggle of geese and goslings on the side of the road, so he turned around so we could look at them, but as we were turning around, one of the families (daddy, momma and two baby goslings) were boldly crossing the road in the rain. They were really scurrying across the road, and the traffic was coming hard and heavy, so I held my breath until they made it to the median. As they were about to cross the other section of road, I panicked, wanting to rush out and rescue the precious family from impending doom, but apparently momma or daddy sensed the danger and held them back until the cars passed, then they hurriedly scurried across avoiding disaster... I mean... those little goslings were just booking it across the road, flapping their stubby little wings like crazy. Why were they so intent to face imminent doom...?... to get to the other side. The other family, with their 5 goslings stayed on the other side out of harms way.

Wonderful weekend!
