the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Snowing... AGAIN!?

Like so many other people (which usually isn't quite so drastically the case), I am done with all this "winter weather". The cold, the snow, the sleet, the ice... I moved to south Georgia to escape all that. Unfortunately, this year, it seems there is no escaping the wintery mess. It's snowing again in the Atlanta area. In fact, all that grey... wintery stuff, whether snow, or sleet... ick. Sometimes, in the Atlanta area, they go an entire winter without snow, but this year, they are struggling to go a few weeks without snow. They are racking up snow days like crazy... in most cases turning them into furlough days (since the state has put such a low priority on education)... I digress... Bottom line, it's an atypical winter. We actually had snow this year. It's not supposed to snow in south Georgia. The last time it snowed here was 1993. Seriously, folks, it doesn't happen very often. Now, we have this...

A CHILLY AIR MASS POURING INTO THE REGION OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS MAY LEAD TO LIGHT FREEZES OVER INLAND AREAS THURSDAY... FRIDAY... AND SATURDAY MORNINGS.
With the cold air dipping into our region, that puts the severe part of the low pressure system down in southern Florida... (you're welcome, Jeff). A slight chance for severe weather, including a 2% chance for tornadoes exists for today in the southern part of the Floridian peninsula.

My thoughts and prayers remain with those in Chile (8.8 earthquake over the weekend) and Haiti, recovering from their devastating earthquakes.

God bless,
Dewdrop

  1. I am sure you'll be throwing a large farewell party when El Nino starts to back off, eh?! Regardless of the weather when I arrive in Savannah on Monday, Mar 8, it's gonna feel like Spring with out a doubt to me. ENJOY!

  5. Hi Lawrence! I will gladly add your link. You have a great deal of information regarding southern Pacific cyclones... I was not aware of the season there. I guess I am pretty US focused. I noticed to comment on your blog, I was required to login. I don't logon to other blog sites, but it really is a terrific site!
