the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

The thrill of MARTA...

Another photo courtesy of my dear friend Jen in Winder, GA. She learned how to use the macro function on her camera... Frozen Dew... Boy, that's an understatement.

It's been YEARS since I have had the pleasure of experiencing MARTA, and I'm sort of glad. It can be a scary thing. I worked hard to avoid eye contact because some of those characters can be quite scary. I had the pleasure of sitting with a whole variety of folks. I kept my child and purse within arm's reach. One thing that I found interesting was the blend of smells... some pleasant, some not so pleasant. You learn quickly which cultures use deodorant and bathe, but the pleasant blend of different colognes was nice, and a gentleman was kind enough to give up his seat to me since the train was crowded when we got on. Chivalry is not dead. The play was awesome... "Disney's High School Musical on Stage". I highly recommend it. It had so much energy and talent. I was impressed and pleased, and it kept the children interested. A great experience.

As I write this, I can hear the ferocious winds crashing into the side of the house. I am afraid to go outside...
A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 10 PM EST THIS EVENING. STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO SWEEP ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING BEHIND A STRONG COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE REGION. WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 MPH BY THIS AFTERNOON WITH GUSTS OF 35 MPH POSSIBLE. As you can imagine, with this wind, the wind chill is, in fact, freezing. Oh, the humanity. The wind should make for an interesting drive home. My little minivan should be thrown all over the place. Anyway, that's all I've got. It's cold, windy, and it's going to get colder... fabulous.

  1. A storm chaser afraid to go outside in the wind? I would of never figured that HB

  2. Just for the record... I am interested in severe weather events, not freezing cold wind events. Thanks though, HB.
