the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Snow in Georgia again... 3rd time in a month!

Well, I have arrived safely in Temple, Georgia for my weekend retreat, where I am quite near Alabama Mike, but since he is sick, I won't be able to see him... Darn. Get well soon, Mike! I hate that we, once again, miss our big chance at meeting for some Alabama/Georgia convergence. Upon arrival here, I was made aware that the revised forecast calls for... well, let me just let you read what the local guys had to say...

JUST AS A HEADS UP...12Z MODEL DATA NOW IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT LIGHT PRECIPITATION EVENT WILL OCCUR LATE TONIGHT AND SAT MORNING ACROSS MUCH OF THE CWA. MODEL SOUNDINGS INDICATE SNOW OR SLEET AS PRIMARY PRECIP TYPE OVER MOST AREAS EVEN AS FAR SOUTH AS COLUMBUS TO MACON...ALTHOUGH WAA PATTERN APPARENT ON LOW LEVELS MAY HINT AT MORE SLEET OR EVEN FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE.VERTICAL MOTION AND MOISTURE ADVECTION INDICATE LIGHT AMOUNTS WILL REACH THE GROUND. EXACT AMOUNTS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME BUT COULD SEE UP TO 1 INCH OF SNOW OR SLEET WITH LIGHT AMOUNTS OF FREEZING RAIN.
Yes, folks, it is forecast to snow on me. Dewdrop should quickly turn to frost, but let me tell you, if it starts to s**w on me, I will try my best to document it the best I can. Awesomeness!

Winter Weather Advisory

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL
101 PM CST FRI JAN 25 2008

...ANOTHER BOUT OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED TONIGHT...

.A WINTRY MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET...AND POSSIBLY SNOW IS ANTICIPATED TONIGHT FOR AREAS GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 20.
What an adventure!

Aside from that, I was FINALLY able to take a pic of that bill board that came down when the tornado whipped across I-75 in Ashburn, Georgia, back in (when was that?), ah yes, December 15th, where one trucker died as the tornado threw his truck over a 50 foot embankment. Here is a link to my post about the chase that Rick and I went on... in the wrong direction. Anyways, I was driving up the interstate, where of course, the shoulder was closed, so this was taken while I was driving at around 60mph (work zone), so I wasn't able to zoom out enough to capture the whole thing, but you get the picture. I described it when I went up before Christmas sometime.I'm going to get back to my retreat! I will update if it... snows...

Toodles,

  3. You're welcome, Mike. Hope you are better. Sounded like a yucky bug you had.

As for the Dewvoid... yes, it applies to winter advisories... no snow for me!

    I am careful Annie... mostly.

    The retreat rocked!

I loved Annie! It was terrific. Did you know the character that played Annie was sick? She couldn't come out and sign autographs because she was so sick. I noticed that she wasn't singing in any of the ensembles, just her solos. Poor kid. After performing, changing and signing autographs, they were loading onto the bus to head to their next venue. I would HATE that lifestyle!
