Storm damage in Hahira, Georgia after the vicious squall ripped through South Georgia (February 26, 2008)

OK, after being made aware of several typos and tense flip flops in my chase account posted in the blog below, I went in and made some revisions to the grammatical nature of my previous post, and I added the terrible video of the wall cloud as it dropped the funnel. If you watch it screen by screen, you can see the funnel. I apologize for the bad word and losing the shot while I moved the camera to watch it without the terrible-video-quality view. Both bf and I saw it drop... definitely a funnel, and VERY short lived. Complete awesomeness!!! What an awesome chase! I want to thank Alabama Mike again for his awesome support, put us in the absolute best viewing spot for the wall cloud/funnel cloud. (I think I need a thesaurus...)

Let me start by saying that only in south central Georgia can your damage assessment involve a peacock... while I was driving home after a brief damage assessment in Hahira, this guy crossed the road, just begging the question... why did the peacock cross the road? LOL!

Today, I would like to share with you some pics of the wind damage, which I am not entirely convinced wasn't the result of a possible EF-0 tornado in Hahira, Georgia (approximately 2.8 miles from where I live). The damage in Hahira is limited to some snapped trees, a downed power line, which the power company was in the process of fixing when I arrived on the scene after my pain and torture session yesterday evening, but I did see where a decent sized pine tree had to be cut as it was laying across the road. Unfortunately, I am not able to get down to Clyattsville, where there are reports of more extensive damage from what people locally are calling a tornado, but the newspaper is calling it a straight line wind event. Here are my pics. Then, there is always the calm after the storm... Absolutely amazing!I think I am finally coming down off the adrenalin rush from yesterday. Finally, the death of the Dewvoid!

Oh, and Meso Mike shared with me Peachtree City's storm report, which is finally posted after the tornado in central Georgia on February 17, near Roberta, Georgia. Here is the link to that report, including pictures of the storm damage in that area.

Have a great, yet cold day! (Oh yeah, I didn't talk about that. The cold front rolled in hot on the heels of the storm yesterday. Temps dropped rapidly through the night, and this morning, though the wind kept temps from dipping too low, the wind chills in the mid-30's with the face slapping breeze more than made up for it... teeth chattering Dewdrop this morning... the bus couldn't get there fast enough!)
