the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Blah weather....

Well, not much to say about the weather today, except that the mornings have been ridiculously dewdropcicly cold, and then the afternoons are beautimus. I love this kind of weather. It would be a perfect day for one of those afternoon excursions I talked about yesterday, if it wasn't for the 50% chance of showers this afternoon and evening... lovely.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH.
It's good, at least that we won't have to worry about a huge rain event because we are still in a flood warning since the river is over its flood stage at 16.3 feet (flood stage is at 13 feet). We need a little time to let the land absorb what we have, then... rain away. Aside from all that, an excursion wouldn't really work today anyhow; I have to save aside time for a trip back to the service shop to pick up my vehicle after they figure out why it is going "whop, whop, whop..." Am I the only person who goes to a mechanic and recreates the sound the vehicle is making...? They probably have a webcam somewhere for people like me... I swear he looked at me like I had two heads. I thought I was being helpful. I am just hopeful that it doesn't cost a boatload of money because I sure don't have it.

I do have some exciting news in the area of chase equipment... I bought Rick's digital video camera, since he went HD, and that left him with 3 cameras (Thanks, Rick). I haven't had time to play with it since he just brought it by yesterday, but I am excited to have something other than my point and shoot camera to capture videos of storms. It should definitely enhance the quality of the video. I've never beena fan of video, but I see it's value with these storms... hard to show rotation with a still camera. Hey, maybe I could work on some time lapse stuff since I love time lapse so much.

I am using old pictures from my stock. I shot the first with the flowers on the fence while I was at the falls this summer. I can't wait to take my waterfall trip. The other is from the nearby theme park while I was on one of those much loved afternoon excursions.

P.S. Just read this message from a friend and fellow blogger and boy, oh boy, did it bring a smile to my face?... it regards that "Calm Before the Storm" post I wrote back in February:
That link came about b/c of moi, but thanks to Dewdrop, hubby and I have a tornado plan! :o)
Thanks, Courtney!!!

Toodles,

  1. I remember those pictures. You should sell that one to the theme park for their brochures; it's much better than their pictures...congrats on the new gear. New cameras are our friends!

  2. Hey, that's a good idea! I might just do that. I think I already shrunk it down though... darn. I am sure there will be other opportunities.

    Cameras are definitely our friends.
