This old house...

Another Monday, another "Odd Shots Monday" shot. In order to participate in "Odd Shots", visit Katney's blog. Today, I am sharing a shot with you that bf and I stumbled upon on our way to a really fantastic date we went on Saturday night (we went to the Melting Pot and a Blues club in Tally. AWESOME!) Well, we were just outside of Monticello, FL on Quitman Highway, when we discovered this old house. The house was a part of Boyd Farm, which after some research, I discovered is a 170 year old sod farm, so I am guessing that the house is approximately 170 years old. I couldn't stop taking pics of it. It's not hugely odd, but it's different to the point that it caught my eye as we were passing by, and I asked bf if he would mind turning around... he, of course, did not mind. A few more shots from the date...I hope you all have a terrific (Observed) Memorial Day. I am headed to O'Leno State Park... photo ops... :O)

In honor of Memorial Day, let me just say thanks to all the troops and Veterans, who risk/have risked their lives on our behalves, in the name of freedom. God Bless.

P.S. The tornado report count from yesterday climbed to 43 overnight. That's 167 tornado reports since Thursday, and we have yet another risk for severe weather today.

Regarding the tornado yesterday in Iowa... this is amazing...

  7. Awesome old house pictures. You know how much I love those, however I am married now and my husband no longer turns around to allow me to shoot pictures. I wonder if I can have him reprogrammed as a boyfriend again without him knowing it? Sweet shots of you two on the date. You guys really drive far for dates. We think 10 miles is too much of an inconvenience to drive for a date, so we order in pizza and watch all the new movies we missed on pay-per-view while we fight our children and dog for room on the couches. Okay I'm going to stop now before I drop off into a clinical depression. That food looks delicious, much more palatable than the Taco Hell we ate tonight. What is that drink??? I could use one right now!

  8. Daryl, Yes, it was a lovely evening... the food was absolutely scrumptious, and the drinkie was incredible. We had a terrific time... yes, Spanish moss hangs from most trees in my neck of the woods. It definitely makes things more picturesque, but you have to watch for the little buggies.

Dragonstar, It definitely caught my eye.

John, Thanks so much. I thought the same thing.

Michele, Yes, thanks. I love the rows of trees in the background.

Mikey, Thanks!! :O) Yes, almost time to shift or split our focus between the plains and the tropics... choices, choices. I shoulda been there, grrr...

Tom, Thanks. It really was incredible!!! The house was quite charming.

Annie, we've got to do something about your man. I love our dates. We are worth it.
