Since our 3rd and final stage of the honeymoon was the longest portion, I will break it down for sharing purposes. Our first day was full of travel... flying to California takes a LONG time. Flying back took a lot longer. There were only 3 flights coming back on the really awesome last minute deal we got, so we ended up in Minnesota... (huh?!) At least, I was able to see the Grand Canyon going both ways!!! Our first glimpse of the Pacific Ocean was memorable for both of us. We couldn't believe how glass-like the surface was...Landing was amazing to me... my first thought was how densely populated everything was there. There is no wasted space whatsoever, and you come in right over the city. On the second night, we stayed at a place right underneath this flight-path. Immediately, after landing, we were exhausted but didn't want to miss our first California sunset (which, incidentally, was the only one we caught the whole trip), so after getting our car and a recommendation for a really hip (and super busy) sushi place in Old Towne, we headed to Fiesta Island to watch the sun set on one side... ...and the moon rise on the other... Then, we were off to eat at Harney Sushi. We waited 10,000 forevers but finally got seated at the sushi bar where Mitch took care of us.Literally, we told him our likes and dislikes and he went to town preparing some special dishes for us. Then, at the end they treated us to a surprise with a special dessert in honor of our wedding... tempura strawberries... yummy.Still being on Georgia time, I was falling asleep in my soy sauce, so we headed to the hotel for the night.
So much fun!!!
