The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Public Severe Weather Outlook!!!!

PUBLIC SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0540 AM CDT WED JUN 06 2007

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT...

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING A MODERATE RISK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.

THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

A SMALL PART OF NORTHWEST IOWA
WESTERN MINNESOTA
MUCH OF SOUTHERN AND EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA
NORTHEAST INTO CENTRAL NEBRASKA
MUCH OF SOUTH DAKOTA
OK, so I had absolutely no problem waking up to that... In fact, as for sleeping... I fell asleep without a problem. The problem came in when I tried to stay asleep. I felt like a kid at Christmas waking up every hour... Is it time to chase yet??? No Dew! Go back to sleep! No wonder I can't sleep though... the one day outlook: GIVEN THE MAGNITUDE OF THE INSTABILITY...THE STRENGTH OF THE SHEAR IN THE EXIT REGION OF A 70-90 KT 500 MB JET...AND STRONG MID/UPPER FORCING...AN OUTBREAK OF SEVERE STORMS SEEMS ALMOST CERTAIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. Yes, it's strongly capped, but I am confident that that cap will bust. It just needs to bust early enough for me to see anything. Of course, last night it was still bright here at 9:30PM. We should be OK. I am once again ignoring the text in South Georgia...

I'd better get a start on my day. Gotta Chase me a nader, public enemy #1, but a chaser's candy... man, I am nuts.

Quick shout out to all my friends who have been so supportive in this really awesome trip, starting with my chase team... Thanks Carolina Mike, Rick, Jay, Alabama Mike, and Jeff. Then, there are the folks who I've met along the way, who have been encouraging and especially kind about this trip. Thanks to Texas Steve M., Jess, the Cloud Stalker and Storm Chasing Mikey. Of course, I owe this trip to the Twister Sisters! I can't wait to chase with them!!

IT'S CHASE DAY!
