The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

No comet for me...

First of all, I didn't catch the comet... It was funny because the contrail from a plane got me excited for a minute... It was only trailing for a short distance behind the plane, looking very similar to the pictures I had seen on that link, but then, I saw two others in the sky just like it... no comet for me. I am fairly confident that my view of the horizon is just too obscured. The sky was perfect for it today, but since I live in the middle of suburbia, somewhat similar to Wisteria Lane... I have a lovely view of the neighbors' rooftops... Oh, well, wasn't meant to happen. The picture I posted was taken off of Tybee Island in July.

As for weather prospects, the chance at severe weather is diminishing for next week. What a shocker...
THE FRONT WILL WEAKEN AS IT ENTERS OVER AREA...BUT WILL BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS AND POSSIBLY A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. Oh well, we can't win them all, or any of them, as it seems. There is a spot highlighted on the 4-8 on the SPC site... but it captures the far western part of GA on the outer edge of the area highlighted, so I am not too optimistic. Since I am not in a position to chase too far from home yet, I'll just have to watch it on GR and learn. One of the NWS folks sent me some links to learn more about meteorology (thanks a bunch, KG), so I will work on increasing my knowledge base during this weather lull, in an effort to keep from being sucked into a severe case of SDS . There are only so many times I can watch Bill and Helen chase that F-5, you know? If you don't understand that, you are obviously not being impacted by SDS... congratulations, you're one of the lucky ones...

Tonight, I am taking part in the local Relay for Life kick-off event. I am the accountant for the Relay... again... so I get to collect everyone's money and keep the teams straight. I am also a team captain. This year, I am walking in honor of my newly realized storm spotter friend, Sandra P. who recently had a very disappointing CT scan. If you would like to donate money to the ACS, please email or comment me, and I'll let you know how.

(If only I had a few clones, I could also be at mini-dew's practice - the last one before the big competition on Saturday, her first), and I could attend the meeting with the child I'm sponsoring who is entering the church. I am only one person, people.

Take care,
~Dewdrop
