the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

High Risk, PDS -- Tornado Watch, and I have to WORK?!

..THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION...

DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER... THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. For my area!!! No way!!! High Risk to boot... This is an intense storm... capable of major damage. We even have our own PDS. SPC has us in a High Risk Category. Currently, there are tornado warnings issued in Southern Alabama and most recently in FL Panhandle. It's still a little ways out. I have GR up and working now... Thank goodness. I'd hate to have to go all Steven Steagal on someone. High Risk... goodness gracious. Watch out folks.

My first High Risk.

An initial line came through our area earliler while I was driving in. There was no hail, but the rain drops were huge, if that counts for anything. NWS suspected hail was possible in that first line... not here... sigh. As for the rest, this is what they have to say:
WILL NEED TO WATCH THESE INDIVIDUAL CELLS CLOSELY FOR POTENTIAL SUPERCELL DEVELOPMENT AS THEY HEAD OFF TO THE NE TOWARDS OUR CWA. STILL EXPECT THE GREATEST WIDESPREAD SEVERE WX THREAT TO BE LATER IN THE DAY...AS A PRE-FRONTAL SQUALL LINE ORGANIZES OFF TO OUR W...AND CONVECTIVE WATCHES WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED FROM NW TO SE OVER OUR AREA. Happy chasing. Anyone out in this, be safe. It's a big one, and here it can be quite dangerous. As for me, I am doing the "Happy Dew Dance".

More to come...
