Dewdrop-sonde... lol

Yesterday, as forecasted, produced a nice arsenal for the many chasers that were out seeking tornadoes. Many chasers have already posted reports and pictures, videos... since Jeff Gammons, has once again done a fabulous job of compiling those reports, I won't be-labor the issue (I'm not a fan of redundancy). 23 reports of tornadoes yesterday... One in Eagle Pass, TX, sadly reported 6 casualties. That is definitely the horrible truth of these storms, they destroy that which is in their path. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those victims. Now, it looks like things have traveled east with this system, as they tend to do... The SPC has outlined a relatively large area of slight risk for severe weather to the west of here, eastern parts of the southern plain to parts of the Ohio and Mississippi Valleys for today. So, the potential exists.

Tomorrow, that area is shifted eastward, as the system sweeps its way across the nation. It is not expected to produce anything like what was experienced yesterday or the day prior, but isolated tornadoes and hail cannot be ruled out. I am not sad that we are not in the slight risk area. It is expected to move to the Northeast as time goes on... leaving us with very little chance at much. That's fine, we don't need any lightning, just rain. Anything we get will most likely just flood our moisture barren soil... but I'm asking for it anyway... it will at least help with the fire to my east and help the water pressure in my shower... Gotta love a well. Sadly though, POPS for my part of the CWA have been lowered... just a little rain, please...

That's all for me, for now.

Ciao,

  1. Dew, that was a tragedy out in Texas. However, it also amazes me what a tremendous job the SPC does when they issue these risk areas. The Enterprise tornado and now this one both occurred during a "high risk". Good luck on your rain...y'all really need it...

  2. Indeed, a terrible tragedy. The SPC does a phenomenal job of forecasting these severe weather events...

As for the rain... praying for it. Hope you get more than your forecasted 1/2"... ;-)

  3. Thanks Dew. I'd rather be chasing these events and posting my own reports, but what can you do.

Hope you get some rain today. It's nice and warm here this morning. up at 5am and it's 72F out. Ahh Broke 90F here yesterday!

  4. We'd all rather be chasing it...

Rain would be nice... not feeling all that optimistic that it will happen though.
