DATA FROM THE AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING HURRICANE DEAN INDICATE THAT MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO 145 MPH...CATEGORY FOUR ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON HURRICANE SCALE.Hurricane Dean is presenting beautifully on satellite tonight, offering a solid eye. With winds at 145, pressure at 946mb and a beautiful structure, Dean is packing quite a punch.
Here, I hear rumbles of thunder and see that we have the storms from north GA approaching here. Lots of wind damage reports out of today's storms, and I am now hearing it picking up here and it looks like it has lost its umph on radar, so I am not going anywhere. Doggone Dewvoid... can already hear the thunder subsiding. I am going to sit here and wait for the 11PM update.
11:00 UPDATE:
...CATEGORY FOUR DEAN INTENSIFYING OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN...SOME ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.Hurricane Dean now has a minimum pressure of 937mb!!! This is insane!!!
Stay tuned,
~Dewdrop
