Well, it was cool to wake this morning to another system. We now have Subtropical Depression 11, which is now developing solid convection around its core and is, therefore, expected to be upgraded today into a tropical storm. Unfortunately, it's location will be fast to work against it making it quickly go extratropical. Bottom line is that we should soon have Tropical Storm Jerry, but he isn't going to amount to much.
Check out last night's graphical outlook though. Can you believe that?! The tropics are so busy right now; however, only the ones in the Caribbean (Invest 94L, as it emerges into the GOM - could become one for us, keeping a close eye on that one), the well-organized one coming away from the Cape Verde Islands (Invest 96L, which could become a tropical depression over the next few days) and the one east of the Windward Islands (Invest 97L, which could slowly develop... maybe... the most impressive looking to me this morning though, with its attempt to wrap some convection around an emerging center of circulation) are the ones we can expect to see do anything.
Locally, I can expect some activity this afternoon (of course, the day of the church picnic) and things should dry out for Monday and Tuesday, bringing chance showers and t'storms back into the forecast Wednesday. I might get something today... but we shall see. Watching "Facing the Giants" just now... I heard a line that struck me hard..."God will send the rain when he’s ready, but you need to prepare your fields to receive it."
Happy Sunday. I am off to prep for church.

ReplyDeleteYes, thanks Jeff, STS Jerry now beginning to take on tropical characteristics, packing winds of 40mph. The satellite looks pretty wild.
ReplyDelete"Facing the Giants" is incredibly awesome! Such an inspirational movie. I need to get it on DVD.
David, Are you Bungholio? lol
ReplyDeleteAll I want to know is where in the heck is my COLD FRONT, it's hotter than 300 Hells down here. Also the next Hurrican we have, you should come down and have a Hurricane Party with me. We get lots of tornados around my neighborhood everytime--luckily the back side of the town gets all the action and not my house. You could actually storm chase here with some regularity! Just let me know when you wanna come!
ReplyDeleteI need to see that movie.
ReplyDeleteChasetunity at Annie's!!! How many can you hold? Sounds like we have a hurricane party to attend to... San Antonio... FL.
ReplyDeleteYou NEED to see that movie!!
Well, my house is kind of small, but I can cram...
ReplyDeleteYou don't know what you're offering... lol Thanks for supporting the team though.
