The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

As the days get shorter...

Well, I did my little Dewdropcicle thing again this morning. It dropped down to 39 in my local area when I looked at the thermometer anyway. I told you about how I had told Mini-Dew that she would be wearing long-sleeves and a jacket. Well, she tried, I repeat tried, to sneak another one by me. That little weasel actually went to grab her sweater as she was getting ready to walk out the door. I said, "I don't think so." She tried, without any success, to convince me that her thin sweater was warmer than her thick jacket... No dice. That child left my house in a long sleeve shirt and a thick jacket. Kids! (I took this pic at Nichols Lake in Brooks County in March. It is among my favorite spots to shoot sunsets. It looks like that time of year has returned where I miss the sunset... bummer. It is still my plan to travel the country shooting sunsets and sunrises. How awesome would that be?!)

Tennessee Mike was lucky to get some severe weather yesterday. There are reports of trees and power lines down around Tennessee and Kentucky, as that low pressure system barrelled its way through that area. Actually, in Nashville, there was a doppler indicated tornado, but no reports of a touch down. The really great news in all that is they got some great rain, great for drought. (Took that pic while I was taking shots of the Withlacoochie River back in January. I know it has nothing to do with what I am talking about, but some of us aren't lucky enough to be exposed to severe weather... As for the river shoot, it was so serene there. I love afternoons when I can just go out and explore. That one was all good until I heard the gunshots.)

Checking local weather, I see a fire weather watch, freeze warnings to my north and a forecast low for Wednesday night of 33 degrees!!! I am not digging these temps at all!!! Last night, I bundled up in my long sleeve PJs, and I was STILL chilly. My heat was on. I am so cold natured. I don't know how I ever survived in Boston, so glad I am not there anymore. The cold front is making its way down. You can actually see the line on the satellite image... in the wake of that low that breezed through to the north. It's fixin' to get REALLY COLD down in these parts. Brr...

In the tropics, all we've got is an "occluded" low pressure system southwest of the Azores, fondly dubbed Invest 92L. It hardly has any associated convection, but it's spinning like crazy out there. It is being monitored for any signs of tropical or subtropical development.

That's all folks.
