the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Sky on fire... possible severe weather today in South Georgia...

This morning, while I was getting ready, and Mini-Dew was letting the doggone dog back into the house, she came running in to get me, "Mommy," she said, "You have got to come and see the clouds over my trampoline. They are beautiful!" So, of course, I had to check them out... A nice bed of altocumulus had filled the pre-dawn sky, which meant, spectacular sunrise coming up. She was impressed with just the clouds. I explained to her that with the clouds that way, we should have a beautiful sunrise. The sky should look like it's on fire. At some point during the course of the AM, I got a call from Rick indicating the same thing. Well, I was armed and ready... sitting outside waiting on the bus (and the sunrise), camera in hand... This is what I saw... truly a sky on fire.

God truly is a masterful artist.

Wording for today's weather forecast from the guys has taken a step up. Looks like dymanics have lined up somewhat better than expected. There is talk of potential for some isolated (translates loosely to anywhere I don't happen to be) strong to severe storms, mostly over the coastal areas, but given some afternoon heating (clear skies and temps in the 70's expected), it could interact with the warm front to generate a little something-something. Here is their exact wording:

SHOULD THIS LOW SNEAK NWD AND INTERACT WITH WARM FRONT FURTHER INLAND THEN STRONG TO ISOLD SEVERE STORMS MAY DEVELOP ACROSS ALA/GA COUNTIES. IF UPDRAFTS CAN BE SUSTAINED ALONG FRONT...COULD NOT DISCOUNT A TORNADO. SO THIS BEARS WATCHING.
If only I had an opportunity to chase today... but, by the mere fact that I cannot, it should be taken to imply that there is an increased likelihood of some action. I will keep an eye on it. Here is a snapshot of the current radar out of Jackson. Two TVSs, 2 Mesos and a 3DC Shear. Looks like a rough day over that way.I had my dear son and his sweet girlfriend over last night, and they brought with them my "grand puppy". I wouldn't typically go along with that, but they seriously view that beagle dog as their child... They even bought the dog a jacket. Her eyes were saying so much... and I don't think any of what her eyes are saying happen to be what her "parents" believe she was thinking.

"Jesus won't dump u!" Just a message I felt compelled to share. I was traveling behind this dump truck the other day, and I was simply thrilled by the message. It's so nice to be reminded of this from time to time (even if from the back of a dump truck...) especially at this time of year when holiday "cheer" seems to impede the message that should be at the forefront of it all.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

  1. B-E-A-UUU-T-ful sky!!!

Due to me getting a new roof on my house today, I have had my eyes glued to weather.com waiting for the rain to start pouring while the roofers where on top of my house. We had a few sprinkles here and there. The banging has finally stopped, and it looks like I'll have the perfect opportunity to check for any leaks in the next hour or so as the rain is headed this way! I of course had to come check out your blog to see if you were talking about rain today! :o)

  2. Thanks, Courtney! Sorry about the roof for Christmas. That is worse than my radiator for Christmas. Showers are rolling into your area very soon. Doesn't look too bad for you, but it should be a good test of that new roof.

    Merry Christmas!
