TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER... THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.I have heard a few rumbles of thunder so far and seen a few flashes, but there hasn't been anything notable at this time. The wind has picked up steadily throughout the day, and so far it is holding out. This is a current pic of what's coming this way.
It's show time... Oh, almost forgot to mention, talked to Meso Mike, up in central Georgia visiting his parents in Byron, who was chasing a tornado warned cell up in Rebecca with his mom earlier this evening. Meso Magnet... notice on the map, the action in Georgia, happened up in his neck of the woods. I just saw a report that that same storm 5 miles SW of Rebecca, Georgia produced a tornado that injured 8 people, 2 critically, damaged 12 structures, destroyed 9... It was a big tornado day. It was dark when Mike was on this one... I am glad he backed off in the dark.
I will have my radio on.
Night,
~Dew

We were 6 miles north/west of Roberta, Ga. on 80W.... I'll post tomorrow. . . .

ReplyDeleteRolling thunder in the dark rules!
Radar looks more linear in your neck of the woods now, so looks like just a hail/wind threat while moving through. Enjoy the overnight sounds of steady rolling thunder and rain. Man we had this last week and I miss it already…
Mike, I saw that. Can't believe you chased with your mom that close the a dangerously tornadic supercell. You truly are a meso magnet...
ReplyDeleteJeff, Sweet sounds of rolling thunder this morning. I haven't gotten any lightning. I just want to take a shower and get ready for work at this point.
