Dallas/Abilene Tornado??? Now near Colorado City... something?

Initial reports are that there was a large tornado that touched down between Abilene and Dallas in Breckenridge, TX, but I haven't seen any official reports yet... Will update more as I know more... I could see Tony, Amos and Brian on the cell.

I am watching David Drummond now... he is on a cell near Colorado City, TX that looks to have fired up nicely. He is streaming video.

There are currently 3 tornado reports out there. One was a brief touchdown near Tye, and I think it had two reports, and the other near Breckenridge caused some damage. Looks like everyone and their brother is on that one... Look at all the active tornado watches right now... ~Dew

  1. Hey, Jenn! I have my chase account posted up on my blog. I only know of two tornadoes that occurred between Abilene and Dallas; one large tornado in Breckenridge and another east of that, though I don't know that the second was ever confirmed. All is detailed in my account of things.

  2. I saw some images of the damage in Breckenridge, heard stories of cars on rooftops and semis overturned. I will be sure to check out your site. Thanks!

  3. I wonder if that report of a 1+ mile wide wedge was true, and if so, if it may have been over open country.

  4. According to Jeff Gammons, Verne Carlson saw what could have been a large wedge (or a very low to ground wall cloud) near Mineral Wells, Texas at about 7:00CDT. It's not been confirmed.

  6. I'll have to check that out. I need to dive into work after that though, so I am going to super busy status after that... yes, Steve (OK), really.
