Frost Advisories and Tropical Storms... in April?!!!

OK, so frost advisories and red flag warnings... let me check my calendar. Apparently, I was mistaking when I thought we were in APRIL!!! How crazy is this weather?! Well, have no fear, the warm up will get here... eventually. Locally, we are looking at a chance for some freezing temps in the morning... with 70's in the afternoon... good grief. Things should start to get better on Thursday. Our next shot at rain occurs Friday, when a quick frontal system moves into the area, with a ridge hot on its heels, drying things out for the weekend. Not very exciting...

There is some tropical excitement though... no, not here exactly, but we do have Tropical Storm Neoguri, which is expected to skirt China's largest island, the Hainan Province as a typhoon early Friday, our time. On the 18th at 12Z for those finding this through other means. The satellite graphic and the Tropical Storm Neoguri text are linked to updating data.

I can't believe I am discussing frost advisories and tropical storms in April. That said... bf called me on Sunday to tell me to look at the sky... It was gorgeous, this thick strip of cirrus clouds formed a border across the sky, literally so large that I couldn't capture it all in under 3 shots. Here they are...Have a fabulous day!!!

  1. Thanks for the comment Jenn! :o)
Yes, who would have thought... frost warnings in April. Thankfully, I've been able to keep my little toes tucked in a warm bed each morning!

  2. Not me. Must be nice tucking those toes away... mine are exposed as I sit and wait for Mini-Dew's school bus. Brrr... it's weird to have a sunburn during episodes of frost.

  3. We are in a freeze warning in the morning. I hope it doesn't kill any of our plants. I remember last year the freeze turned a lot of the big trees leaves brown. It looked like fall in the spring. But they eventually grew new green leaves.

    I love your sky pictures.

I hope your having better luck with Relay for Life than I am. Last year I collected triple the money I have raised so far this year. I think our economy is hurting Relay for Life this year.

  4. I do hope your plants survive. Hopefully, this is our last freeze of the season. The ground here was covered in a light frost... frozen dew... how figuratively accurate...

Well, relay is definitely staggering this year. My donations are trickling in slowly, and our relay is in a couple of weeks... Even some of my usual donors... aren't. Definitely the economy.
