The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

I know what they mean by "hard" freeze... I can "hard"ly feel my fingers

If you're like me, you are growing just as tired of these freezing temperatures as I am... We are in the south, after all. We aren't supposed to be dealing with Hard Freeze Warnings day after day... after day after day. I am not supposed to get ready for work and watch as the temperature drops from a ridiculous 25°F to an unspeakable 21°F. Currently, things have come up to a toasty (HA!) 37°F (3°C!!!!) with a wind chill of a mere 29°F. That is just horrible. It's 11AM!!!! It's not supposed to feel below freezing at 11AM. Now, the worst of all of this is that it's not over, AND it will get worse before it gets better...

TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BELOW FREEZING WITHIN A FEW HOURS AFTER SUNSET...AND REMAIN BELOW FREEZING UNTIL MID MORNING THURSDAY. THE NORMALLY COLDEST INLAND LOCATIONS... LIKE THE TALLAHASSEE... VALDOSTA (EEEK!!!)... AND CROSS CITY AIRPORTS...COULD GET DOWN INTO THE UPPER TEENS BY DAWN THURSDAY. THESE SITES WILL BE AT OR BELOW FREEZING FOR UP TO 12 HOURS.

A HARD FREEZE WARNING MEANS TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP TO 25 DEGREES OR LOWER FOR AT LEAST TWO HOURS. THESE CONDITIONS CAN DAMAGE CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION. TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT PETS...EXPOSED PIPES...AND SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
Torturous... Dewdropcicle!

Since my fingers are currently frozen, I will keep this brief. I shot this pic on Friday after I noticed the scene while passing... it charmed me into turning around.Have a truly lovely day!

  1. Yep, still frozen up here. Not a flake of snow yesterday during our winter storm warning. Tough call by the Meteorologist on that one. Better chance of frozen precip up this way next week, but i'm really over it. I'm ready for Spring and some instability. Cold dry air is no fun.

    How's your back doing?

  2. My back, neck and shoulders were doing pretty well, better than before, until I went to the chirpractor today, and he adjusted me, and my rib got out of alignment and he couldn't put it back... ouch. Everything is tight now, but I think it's overall better. Thanks for asking.

    I'm over this whole winter thing, too! Bring on SPRING!!!
