Missing the big show...

Well, the Vortex2 team finished with precision Dewvoid timing... just a couple of day after ending their "great tornado hunt", we saw the second most active day of the year, with almost 450 storm reports of severe weather. Tornadoes ravaged the plains, hail fell in the northeast and accumulated like snow (kids were having hail-ball fights) and wind bombarded the southeast.Check it out by clicking on the graphic above, but 19 tornado reports, 193 wind reports, and 250 hail reports! The hail reports include hail as large as 4½" (softball size) in Texas, including 4" hail (grapefruit sized) in Decatur, Alabama (Mike, you get that???) Locally, all we got was some brief AM rain showers. What a downer! Weather here has been rather blah. Each day, the forecast has called for a slight chance for severe weather in the northern part of Georgia, but each day it misses me by a mile... well, about 250 miles. Today is no different. The pesky/exciting (depending on your perspective and weather interest) front is going to push some more weather out of the west into Georgia and the Carolinas... but not here.

Fortunately, this morning, I had a lovely patch of altocumulus in my western sky, alive with a pinkish glow from the rising sun. That and a patch of white lilies (with a guest) was about all the excitement I could handle this morning...Have a fantabulous day!
