After an elaborate discussion about the potential for a Cape Verde wave growing up to become something... nothing has come of it. Looks like we have more nothing ahead. Then, after that, we can look forward to more nothingness. sigh.
Today, a slight risk for severe weather exists over much of the southeast... oh no, not here... of course, not here, but much of the south is drawn into the green outline that I miss so much. Really, if you were to draw a diagonal from the northwest corner to the southeastern corner of the US, that would pretty much summarize the slight risk for severe weather today... oh, except, not here. lol
Incidentally, Louisville, KY (where I will be visiting in September), experienced record rainfall in a short amount of time, with 3 inches in an hour falling, and 4 1/2 in two hours, putting much of that city, including the well-known Churchill Downs, under water in flash floods, which sadly didn't deter people from driving around. Turn Around, Don't Drown®, people. Being in a town that recently experienced devastating flooding, I can empathize with folks in that area, and I hope that clean up efforts are relatively easy. Just as an aside, I only know of a couple of families that have been able to return home after the flood. Most of the flooded homes in Valdosta are still being worked on. Large dumpsters and construction crews line Meadowbrook Drive daily.
Update: Looks like the update finished out that diagonal for me...Have a sun shiny day!

Now that is a cloud roll! Wonderful captures even if it does look threatening!

It is amazing to think how destructive the weather can be how a calm day is a sigh of relief.
