Active day today, everywhere but here... yes, folks, this is my life. This is a radar capture of what's hitting between Tarboro and Nashville, NC. Pretty intense. As I was waiting to post this... a tornado warning popped up for that same cell:
535 PM EDT WED MAR 28 2007
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEWPORT HAS ISSUED A
* TORNADO WARNING FOR... PITT COUNTY IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA... THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF... WINTERVILLE... GREENVILLE...
* UNTIL 600 PM EDT
Mike, if you're out in this, be safe. Alrighty? Have fun though... lucky dog. I am JEALOUS! Looks like a lot more where that came from, too... I just caught this image at 6:15, so it's fresh. A lot of action for this evening. That Skywarn team in NC is having a field day right about now.
Aside from that Oklahoma and Texas, SPC just put out a tornado watch for cells potentially containing 3 inch hail!!! Particularly dangerous situation brewing out that way... Great googaly moogaly! I miss out on all the cool stuff. Things are really kicking up out that way... WOW! Powerful stuff...
Update 7:00PM: I've heard reports of a tornado on the ground southwest of Silverton. Now, I see 3 strong rotations, one just north of Silverton, one NE of Silverton and one between Silverton and Floydada. Oh, and thanks for the V-notch lesson, JG. I learn something new every day.
Scratch that, on the 7:04 update: I see 2 north of Floydada and the one north of Silverton which has been holding strong, and doggone, if I don't have to leave to pick up the Mini-Dew from practice... since hubby is re-fixing his differential. sigh.
