Psalm 72:6
May he come down like rain upon the mown grass,
Like showers that water the earth.
Good morning, sunshines! Yeppers, I am up bright and early to begin a very full day of sitting and waiting for Mini-Dew to perform.
Unfortunately, our upcoming weather pattern is pretty consistent with what we have been experiencing, sunny, dry and warm. Fortunately, the sea breeze will roll in with just enough moisture to spare us truly critical fire weather conditions, but it's still not ideal. Yesterday, for the most part, we were spared the smoke, but it did start to roll in some last night, and this morning I was greeted by a noxious haze when I let the doggone dog out. For the most part, our local forecasts are simply a statement as to whether or not we will be inundated by smoke. Not very exciting stuff, unfortunately. We are in dire need of rain. We are praying hard for rain. Sadly, there is none in the forecast until late next week, and that's only forecasted as random, at best... specifically stated by the guys as:
IF IT`S EVEN POSSIBLE...THE EXTENDED PERIOD LOOKS EVEN LESS PROMISING FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL THAN IT DID AT THIS TIME ON FRIDAY... IT APPEARS WE MAY HAVE TO WAIT FOR SST`S TO SUFFICIENTLY WARM TO PROVIDE A CONVECTIVELY ACTIVE SEA BREEZE CIRCULATION...THOUGH THIS COULD TAKE A GOOD 2 TO 3 WEEKS TO MATERIALIZE.Well, aren't they just a ray of sunshine?! Abundantly so...
Good news about the tropics though, models are consistently trending some early season action stirring up in the Caribbean Sea. It may not be rock solid, but it bears watching and gives a shred of hope to those of us who are desperately needing moisture. A nice, juicy tropical storm is just what we need right about now.
I'm off to get ready for my long day of sitting and waiting.
Happy Saturday!!!
~Dewdrop
The only thing I can say is that we in the southern plains feel your pain. We were inundated by some of the worst drought and wildfire conditions since the great Dust Bowl days....even establishing new records for lack of rainfall. Wildfires were everywhere rampaging across the countryside. The largest ever range fire in Texas occurred in the E TX PH. We were so lucky not to have had the entire state burn up...literally.
ReplyDeleteBut, alot of prayers finally were answered and the skies opened up and poured forth. Now, we are seeing record rainfall in parts of Texas. :-) it will happen sometime soon down there...and not soon enough.
I'm wondering how ya'lls water supplies are doing dow there? Rationing yet?
We are not in a serious rationing state, but there are major limitations placed on outdoor watering, and my showers, being that I'm on a well have been mere dribbles falling from the faucet on some days. I haven't noticed issues in other areas.
ReplyDeleteWe're definitely praying for soon. All signage on stores is telling folks to pray for rain. All people can talk about is the need for rain. We are consumed by talk of rain, or better yet, the insane lack of it.
Ma Nature certainly is having her way with us...
