the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

So long to a dear friend...

It is with a sad heart that I share this. My dear spotter/former-stormchaser friend, the one who had advanced ovarian cancer, passed yesterday. Sandra Peters was such a beautiful young woman, full of life, full of love. She had such a simple grasp on selfless giving. It was a truly unselfish love she offered; she was one of those rare people who gave with their whole heart, sacrificing themselves to just give all they had and make the other happy, comfortable, appreciated, loved. She taught me so much in the short couple of years that I knew her, and I am honored to have had her as a friend. I am honored to have had the privelege of getting to know her. A beautiful soul has been lifted up into Heaven. She wasn't afraid. She wanted to walk with Jesus, after He has carried her so long. She is free of the pain she was forced to endure in this life, and freed to one where she no longer feels pain. Rest in peace, sweet Sandra. The world, my world, is a better place because of you.

I believe that the lightning that I was privleged to experience yesterday was a message from her... Those shots are dedicated to her memory.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you." ~Footprints, Author unknown
