The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Ridging it again...

Picture number... what number am I on??? lol I am thinking that I will have the pictures professionally printed rather than my typical Wally World prints.

As for the local weather scene... people are talking about the extreme heat. It is almost unbearable. Still ridging through Wednesday with an oppressive heat under the ridge... many places in the CWA are approaching the century mark, and the heat index is actually placing us well above that. Though the ridge will still be running the show on Thursday, temps should back off some, offering at least mediocre relief... random afternoon showers are a possibility, but not highly likely. We actually had an out-of-nowhere shower yesterday. When it's hot like this though, it creates a sauna-like environment. Yuck. Give me spring and fall any day... and I'm not just talking about the severe weather that accompanies those seasons... but that is a pretty awesome bonus. Bottom line for today's weather:

LOOKING LIKE A VERY SIMILAR DAY UPCOMING TO WHAT WAS EXPERIENCED ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA ON MONDAY.
The tropics have settled down again. A couple of waves... but nothing expected in the near future... sigh... Looks like the Dewvoid has invaded the cane season, too. Sorry, Jeff.

Today was the first day of school for Mini-Dew. All the parents out there taking pictures of their kindergartners walking into the school... so cute. Mini-Dew was sassing it up in her styling new threads. I am excited about her teacher. It looks like a good year ahead.

Heat Advisory info from the NWS in Huntsville... good info:
PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST THE HEAT BY LIMITING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. SLOW DOWN IF YOU MUST BE OUTSIDE... AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS WHICH INCLUDE PLENTY OF WATER. TARGET GROUPS ARE ATHLETES... OUTDOOR LABORERS... THE ELDERLY... AND YOUNG CHILDREN. HOWEVER... ANYONE CAN BE AFFLICTED BY HEAT EXHAUSTION. BE AWARE OF SIGNS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION... AND IF YOU FEEL ANY SYMPTOMS... STOP IMMEDIATELY AND FIND A COOL PLACE TO REST. ALSO REMEMBER TO PROVIDE EXTRA WATER AND A SHADY PLACE FOR PETS.
...and the same sort of info from Raleigh's NWS:
PRODUCING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS... STAY IN AN AIR CONDITIONED ROOM... STAY OUT OF THE SUNSHINE... AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS. REMEMBER THAT THE FORECAST HIGHS ARE SHADE TEMPERATURES... AND THAT BEING IN DIRECT SUNSHINE CAN ADD 15 DEGREES OR MORE TO THE TEMPERATURE. EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE WARNING SIGNS OF A HEAT ILLNESS... INCLUDING NAUSEA... CONFUSION... CRAMPING... HEADACHE... AND VOMITING. ANYONE WITH THESE SYMPTOMS SHOULD SEEK MEDICAL HELP
Have a great day!!!

  1. Looks like we are especially under the gun today and tomorrow. Sauna is the weather word of the week.

  2. That's still better than the "s" word, Mike.

  3. How dare you openly use the "s" word on my blog!!! ;-) I'll forgive you this time. Don't let it happen again though, OK?

  5. You know... there is a reason that I live in South Georgia, and it is not for the "s" word. I haven't seen that stuff in a long time!!! Well, unless you count the flurry we had over this past winter, but it melted before hitting the ground. You two are geographically misplaced.

  6. Sure, Mike, s**w would be allowed, but let's not push it past there. ;-)
