Waking up to 37 degree temps, Carolina Mike (soon to be Georgia Mike... or Mike, the Meso Magnet) called me this morning to let me hear something... when I heard the noise, I immediately recognized the sound... not that I hear it often, but the man had turned on his windshield wipers over a windshield covered in ICE!!! Central North Carolina... ice... and I was stressing over my 51 degree temps, sitting outside waiting on the bus. One distinction is the wind here; things are still "breezy" as that high spins to the north and the low spins to the south, and we are caught in the middle, in the wind. It is definitely fall! Ice, good golly. Carolina Mike is very close to leaving that very cold place. As I blog, a team of highly specialized movers are packing up all of his possessions to ship them down to my neck of the woods. I am anxious for him to get here, so we can start chasing some of this weather he has been promising. I am so ready to stop talking about the Dewvoid forever. To quote Alabama Mike, the newest member of the Death-of-the-Dewvoid club: "the Dewvoid WILL be defeated. I am on a mission to see that happen. I want to be a part of the 'Death of the Dewvoid'!"
Bring it guys! I am so ready to let the Dewvoid become a thing of the past!!! Does the Southern Weather Brigade rock, or what?! You guys are the best! I mean that.
Onto the tropics with all the excitement down that way. Still, we have Tropical Storm Noel, churching around Cuba. Currently, the "center" is over the island of Cuba, but it has been hugging the coast and actually climbed up to 60mph winds for the 5:00 advisory. The official forecast calls for Tropical Storm Noel to strengthen to a minimal hurricane as it passes over the Bahamas, before shear tears him apart. Already, 20 deaths can be attributed to this rain producer and many others remain unaccounted for... there is concern that it could take days to realize the full impact that Tropical Storm Noel has had on Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The convection associated with Tropical Storm Noel is concentrated on the northern side of the circulation, but it looks to be trying to balance that some on the satellite presentation. Interests on the east coast of Florida should keep an eye on this one. Currently, the forecasted track takes it to the east, but anything can happen, as we have learned well by now, I hope.
Locally, we are dealing with that high pressure system, which is offering some cool wind. Sitting outside this morning, waiting on the bus, I was chilling. Temps in the forecast have highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's, which is nice fall weather. POPS have been dropped from the forecast as the moisture boundary of the tropical storm remains WELL to our south, and the tight pressure gradient is in control. Great trick or treating weather for tomorrow. Mini-Dew will need to bundle up!
At work, we were asked to decorate our doors in some fall theme... of course, I had to make mine weather related, so here is the theme I came up with.... you see, I will be dressing as a chef for Halloween, so it seemed most appropriate. I will take a picture of my finished door... Cool, huh?
That's all I have for now.
Toodles,

It will happen. You will see hail and you will see a tornado. It's just a matter of patience, persistence, and putting yourself in a position to do so enough times.
ReplyDeleteYour best bet is in the Plains, but Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee are better than SGA. I will be more than happy to provide radar support or to join you and the guys on a chase if we can ever get it together.
Sounds good to me. We will just have to get it together!
ReplyDeleteWhat is worse? Having Ice Ice Baby stuck in my head now or the Dewvoid? :P
ReplyDeleteLove the door Idea!
Mike, you're a HOOT and a half! The Dewvoid takes the cake though. You can suffer through Vanilla Ice.
ReplyDeleteOh... I so can't wait to see the door. Cute theme! Thanks for all your sweet comments on the blog! :o)
ReplyDeleteCourtney, you're going to be so disappointed in my door. I have been so uninspired creatively. Please don't have be banished from the Peaches. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry I had too...
ReplyDeleteTake heed 'cause I'm a lyrical poet Miami's on the scene just in case you didn't know it My town that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground 'Cause my style's like a chemical spill Feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel Conducted and formed This is a hell of a concept We make it hype and you want to step with this
Shay plays on the fade slice like a ninja Cut like a razor blade so fast other DJs say damn If my rhyme was a drug I'd sell it by the gram Keep my composure when it's time to get loose Magnetized by the mic while I kick my juice If there was a problem yo I'll solve it Check out the hook while Shay revolves it
Ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby (oh-oh) vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla ice
Yo man let's get out of here
Word to your mother
Ice ice baby too cold
Ice ice baby too cold too cold
Ice ice baby
Now that the party is jumping
ReplyDeleteWith the bass kicked in, the vegas are pumpin
Quick to the point, to the point no faking
I'm cooking MCs like a pound of bacon
Burning them if they ain't quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi hat with a souped up tempo
I'm on a roll and its time to go solo
Rollin in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby, waving just to say hi
Did you stop? no -- I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and Im heading to the next block
That block was dead, yo, so I continued to A1A, beachfront ave.
I can see it now, busting up the karaoke during our chaser convergence, hittin' it to some Vanilla Ice! Yo!
agggggghhh! get out of my head!
ReplyDeleteBuncha freaks....Oops was this mic on???? ;-) Love the door...Bless your heart. ;-)
ReplyDeleteVI, guilty pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI know... Are we sick, or what?!
